The 10th Annual Mission 10 Miler.
Drawing an average of 800 runners from the Mid-Atlantic region, the Mission 10 Miler is a premiere running event beginning and ending at NYMEO Field at Harry Grove Stadium in Frederick, Maryland. Complete with a certified course, chipped-timing and wave start, the Mission 10 Miler is a competitive race offering cash prizes for overall winners, as well as prizes for age group winners.
By running in the Mission 10 Miler, you support the Frederick Rescue Mission’s programs that serve members of the Frederick County community experiencing homelessness, hunger and addiction.

Taking these easy steps will ensure your tag will read correctly and give you an accurate result.
1) Make sure you wear the bib assigned to you.
2) Make sure there is a timing tag on the back of your bib (see photo at left).
3) Wear the bib on the front of your body and ensure its visible at all times.
4) Do not cover the bib with jackets, blankets or other item when crossing over each timing mat.
5) Do not alter the bib or tag in any way.
6) Make sure the number is upright.

Online registration closes Saturday at 5pm (March 20th). Runners can register in person during packet pickup on Friday, March 19 and Saturday, March 20 at the Mission, and on race day at Harry Grove Stadium from 7:30am – 8:30am. Race day registration will increase to $70.
Parking will be available in the upper lots of Harry Grove Stadium (off of Stadium Drive), as well as the lower lot (off New Design Road). Please follow the signs and park only in designated parking. Runners also may be dropped off; please follow traffic volunteers in order to ensure safety for all participants. Course roads will be closed Sunday morning. To avoid being re-routed, participants and volunteers should check map below carefully. Racers can park in the upper and lower lots at NYMEO field at Harry Grove Stadium. The intersection at Stadium Drive and New Design Road WILL BE CLOSED and access will not be allowed. *See map below for details on where to enter for parking.
The Mission will not have bag check available for runners. Because the parking lot is in close proximity, we ask that runners please keep extra items in their cars.
- Please Note: Due to permitting guidelines, this year’s race will not allow for strollers or pets.
The Mission 10 Miler is an out and back course, beginning and ending at Nymeo Field at Harry Grove Stadium. The race begins promptly at 9am with a wave start. Finisher medals will be given to the first 1,000 finished runners.
The course sweep will begin at the 5 mile (halfway) point at 11 a.m. City streets, police officers and support are contracted for specific times and cannot be extended. All participants must adhere to a 18:00 minute/mile pace. If you cannot adhere to the scheduled pace, you will be asked to move to a sidewalk so traffic can resume. If you choose to continue after the course has reopened to traffic, there will be no medical support, fluid stations or course marshals at intersections, and the course will no longer be marked. Participants must complete the course within three hours or medal, finish line and timing cannot be guaranteed.

THE TENT
At the Mission 10 Miler, sponsors have the opportunity to set up a vendor table in our large event tent before the race. Hundreds of runners check in before the race, and enjoy post-race snacks and sports drinks following the event, giving your business face time with potential clients.
THE CAUSE
New Relay!
We are offering the Mission 10 Miler as a relay event! Teams of two can sign up to each run a 5-mile leg of the race.
M10M 2-PERSON RELAY
Registration for the Mission 10 Miler Relay is open! If you’re not ready to run a full 10 miles, then we have exciting news! The Mission 10 Miler is offering a 2-person relay! Challenge your co-workers, family, friends, neighborhood, church group or school team to run with you on Sunday, March 21, and together you’ll have twice the fun!
A Team Captain may register their team, prepay the combined team entry fee, and return later to complete their team information. Registering early is a great way to ensure your team gets the best pricing as well as in tip-top shape for the race! Compete with your teammate against other relay teams for the fastest male, female and co-ed relay teams in the 10 Miler! Relays must have 2 participants to qualify for awards. The first teammate to register and create the relay team will pay the registration fee.
General Information
The Mission 10 Miler 2-person relay splits the course into two relay legs, five miles each.
Packets including race bibs, timing chips and runner swag bags can be picked up by one relay team member or runners can pick them up individually.
Runner Numbers
All relay participants will receive a relay race bib that must be worn on the front of the runner’s shirt while participating.
Relay Exchange
Relay team members who are running the first leg of the relay will line up at the start line with the 10 Miler participants (in front of Harry Grove Stadium).

Exchange Zone is located at the turnaround point for the 10 Miler. Directions for the exchange coming soon.
Timing
Each team’s total elapsed time will be used to determine the winners.

Course Sweep
City streets, police officers and support are contracted for specific times and cannot be extended. All participants must adhere to a 18 minute/mile pace. If you cannot adhere to the scheduled pace, you will be asked to move to a sidewalk so traffic can resume. If you choose to continue after the course has reopened to traffic, there will be no medical support, fluid stations or course marshals at intersections, and the course will no longer be marked. Participants must complete the course before the course sweep or medal, finish line and timing cannot be guaranteed.
Finish Line Team Reunion
Team members waiting at the finish line for a team member will not be allowed to enter the finish line chute. Reunion location will need to be predetermined with partner somewhere inside or outside the tent at Harry Grove Stadium.

Chip Time: Age group winners will be determined using chip time. Awards will be given to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place age group winners for both men and women. Bathrooms
We will have port-o-potties lined up outside the tent, accessible before the race. During the race, each water station will have at least one a port-o-potty.
Parking
Course roads will be closed race morning. To avoid being re-routed, participants and volunteers should check map below carefully. Racers can park in the upper and lower lots at NYMEO field at Harry Grove Stadium. The intersection at Stadium Drive and New Design Road WILL BE CLOSED and access will not be allowed.
Registration
Race day registration for both the 10 Miler and the 1 Miler will be available during packet pickup from 6:30am to 7:45 am at Harry Grove Stadium in the tent. We are unable to transfer registration/bibs to another runner if you are unable to participate, because of the effect on our age group winners. We are unable to provide refunds due to cancellations.
Online registration for the race closes at 6 pm on Saturday evening. Race day registration will be available from 6:30 am to 7:45 am at Nymeo Field at Harry Grove Stadium. Race day price will increase to $65.00.
Course
Pacers will be available during the Mission 10 Miler in the following groups: 7:00 min/mile, 1:10:00 goal time 7:30 min/mile, 1:15:00 goal time 8:00 min/mile, 1:20:00 goal time 8:30 min/mile, 1:25:00 goal time 9:00 min/mile, 1:30:00 goal time 9:30 min/mile, 1:35:00 goal time 10:00 min/mile, 1:40:00 goal time The race will begin with a wave start, with the fastest runners in front taking off first. Waves will be broken into groups and will begin the race in about two minute intervals.
COURSE SWEEP – The course sweep will begin at the 5 mile (halfway) point at 10 am. City streets, police officers and support are contracted for specific times and cannot be extended. All participants must adhere to a 18:00 minute/mile pace. If you cannot adhere to the scheduled pace, you will be asked to move to a sidewalk so traffic can resume. If you choose to continue after the course has reopened to traffic, there will be no medical support, fluid stations or course marshals at intersections, and the course will no longer be marked. Participants must complete the course within three hours or medal, finish line and timing cannot be guaranteed.

Timing chips on bibs are not activated until runners cross the starting line. Runners will automatically be disqualified if they do not hit checkpoints in the course before finishing.

Medals
Medals will be given to the first 1,000 finishers who complete the course. Disqualified runners will not receive a medal. Overall male and female award winners will be recognized and awarded. 1st, 2nd and 3rd place male and female winners in their respective age groups will be announced and awards will be available for pick up. Podium will be available for those who would like to have photographs with medals or awards.

Following the race, runners can choose from an assortment of snacks. Bottled water will also be available.
